neville100's Prompt #564: "Dirty Laundry". Neville doesn't appear but it's still Neville themed. So there. I picked the title more or less at random.

Rita Skeeter sat at a café table, pondering her potential protégée Pansy Parkinson. Rita was getting older now and it helped to have someone do the boring leg work parts of the job, so long as they understood each other.
"So," Rita said, "The new school year approaches, new staff coming in, and I'd like you to find out their dirty laundry my dear. It never hurts to know."
"Of course," said Pansy, swirling the dregs of her tea, "Like who?"
"Well, there's a new herbology Professor," Rita said. "vital subject of course and it's taught by one… Neville Longbottom."
Pansy Parkinson raised one pencilled eyebrow at Rita Skeeter and then smirked.
"That's a joke right?" She said. "Longbottom's a Professor?"
"Yes, he is. Comes highly recommended - brave, war hero, a bit of a looker according to my man inside.
"He's an idiot!" Pansy snorted. "I went to school with him. Mind like a leaky cauldron. First time he rode a broomstick he broke his wrist."
"My dear," Rita said, disappointed. "While it never hurts to bend the facts in search of a good story and I know you want to impress... but you've got to keep it plausible."
